Holt Netball Club has been established since April 2001. We are affiliated to the Wiltshire County of the All England Netball Association Limited, and play in the local Moonraker League.
Holt Netball Club is always looking for new members to join us, whether you want to come along to training, develop some new skills and meet new people, or whether you want to play competitively in the League with affiliation to All England Netball.
If you want to join us for a training session, we meet every Tuesday between 7-9pm, at Holt sports court. Come along and ask for Pauline.
We have three teams in the local Moonraker Netball League; our ‘A’ team playing in the Premier Division, our ‘B’ team in Division 1, and our ‘C’ team playing in Division 3. The league competes between September and May each year.
Our matches are on a Tuesday or Thursday evening (see fixtures for dates and times). All teams play at a central venue – Devizes Leisure Centre – on outside courts.
Netball is a ball sport played between two teams of seven players. It developed from early forms of basketball into a distinct sport in the 1890s in England. It is popular in many Commonwealth nations and is predominantly played by women.
This picture shows the court layout, with player positions marked in areas they are allowed to play. You can find out more about the rules of netball on the England Netball website.
